Like all Spike Lee "joints", it is interesting enough to watch once, although, the target demographic appears to be African-Americans. You do not often get to see that part of a comedy show. I miss the Chris Rock show The behind the scenes footage is interesting though. You know, the typical amateur hour fare with African-American comedians far less talented than the insightful and intelligent Chris Rock. It seems most of the jokes revolved around race, drugs, sex, homosexuality and child abuse. It is funny, but to paraphrase Ralph Wiggum, not ha ha funny. I just had to comment on this documentary. Spike Lee's camera takes us backstage and off-stage with the Kings and into the crowd where everyone's laughing. Bernie Mac, who says he expresses what's in the back of our minds, closes with reflections on being 42 new aspects to his sex life and his attitude toward children. Cedric the Entertainer riffs on a Black president and on being grown up. Hughley mines racial differences and talks about his marriage. Steve Harvey emcees, celebrates '70s music and lyrics of love, and pokes at folks in the front row. The themes are Blacks and Whites, men and women, old-school and hip-hop. Jazz trumpeter Bleek Gilliam makes questionable decisions in his professional and romantic lives.
